My quest to break 200 pounds

Rest Day

No workout today. It’s been 3 days in a row, and even though I wanted to run on the treadmill (I never thought I would have ever utter those words) I resisted, to let my muscles rest a little. The back of my knee was a little sore this morning, and that was the second reason. I don’t want to push it too far, too fast. I do plan on running some tomorrow and maybe a little on Sunday. I kind of like the 2 day on, 1 day off idea, for now.

The scale. Wow…the scale. I went out with some friends last night for a little while and had a few beers with them. Then I came home, but we didn’t have dinner until around 9pm. I had stuffed peppers with my wife (Brown rice, lean ground beef, garlic, onions, tomato sauce, in a hollowed out green pepper. Amazing). But I wasn’t completely full, even an hour later. So when crawling into bed I had a sliced green apple with Peanut Butter. I LOVE peanut butter, and had MUCH more than the suggested serving size.

So…I thought the scale would be a little higher today. In fact, the opposite. 279. Down two. I’m down 7 pounds in 4 days. At this rate I’ll break 200 by the end of February! Happy I know that won’t happen.

However, we are going out with some friends tonight, so we’ll see how good I am this evening. And since I didn’t run today, we’ll see how it reflects on the scale in the morning. Have a great new year!
